House rewire
Let us make your house super safe
Most of the houses in UK build before 2000 do not have any Residual current device in the consumer unit (RCD). RCD is a safety device that quickly disconnects the power to prevent getting injured from an electric shock. Current 18th of wiring regs BS7671 require new installations to have RCD protection on all circuits.
If your wiring installation is in good condition, the consumer unit can be upgraded with 18th edition one to meet latest requirements. However if the house has original wiring for example 50 years old, it is strongly recommended to rewire the house as the insulation of the cables perishes over the time and could lead into potential electrical hazard to the user over the coming years.
You should consider a house rewire when buying a house and or before doing any renovations.
